If your looking to light up the bottle, just flash a regular flashlight on it for a tiny bit. Keep the flashlight out of camera range though.

yeah man, i normally use my little torch and balance it on something behind the subject. and then top light with a focused beam.

i like this picture a lot man. I like the 2 different colors of light. I can't figure out what you're using to make the lines though? looks very creative and seems very hard to do. i enjoy looking at your photos.

its simple really, i have a torth called a maglite solitaire, which is basically a single "maglite bulb" (seems like a halogen to me) with a focusable bulb, so instead of focusing i remove the bulb cover so that the bulb is naked. normally, i use a 4 second shutter speed and i just move the torch quick enough for it not to light my hand.

then in photoshop, merge all the photos into one photoshop document and set the blending mode of all but the background to "lighten".

then its a simple task of colourising what you want, playing with the curve tool, and whatever else you'd like to edit.

really, give "painting with light" a try. i tried a simple idea from Digital Photo magazine and it's really got me into it!! :D
:iconanneluise:
that sounds amazing. I might try it sometime. I would rather see more pitures ofy ou though. have a good one

well, give it a go anyway, but expect to see plenty more from me in the near future...once i buy some appropriate flowers, theres a hint to what i will be doing! :)
